Musetti’s Latteria is more than a food company. It is the continuation of a family story that began generations ago in Southern Italy.

The family’s roots trace to Palermo and Messina, Sicily, with lineage extending into Catanzaro, Calabria, places where food meant family, community, celebration and tradition. Pizza, pasta and traditional Italian desserts were made by hand and shared or sold within the community. When members of the family came to America, they brought their recipes, their traditions and a belief that remains at the heart of the company today:

From Italy to New York

Nonna Mondello became known for her handmade pizza and pasta, while Nonna Musetti was known for her fresh-baked goods and Italian cooking. Mom’s side of the family came from Calabria; Dad’s side came from Sicily and Calabria.

That heritage became Mamma Musetti’s, beginning as a wholesale cannoli company producing fresh, handmade cannoli cream and shells and supplying 129 restaurants throughout the Hudson Valley, the Bronx and Brooklyn. Word spread. Customers returned. Thousands followed the company, and the Musetti name became especially known for its cannoli. At the center of that success was something even more valuable: trust.

The wholesale company led to Mamma Musetti’s Italian Cafe in Wappingers Falls, New York, serving fresh, handmade Italian foods, pastas, sauces and desserts to a loyal following. In 2020, Mamma Musetti’s received Hudson Valley Magazine’s "Best of the Hudson Valley" award for Best Dessert.

From New York to Florida

The family brought its traditions south to Florida, operating from the Italian American Club and receiving a warm welcome from the community. For a time, the business became part of the past. But the recipes never disappeared. Neither did the family history. And the cannoli certainly didn’t.

Eventually, one question emerged: what if the family story wasn’t finished? That question became Musetti’s Latteria.

A new chapter on Florida’s Space Coast

At its heart remains the signature fresh handmade cannoli cream that built the original company, joined by handcrafted Italian specialties: cannoli, panna cotta, bomboloni, sfogliatelle, traditional gelato and old-fashioned ice cream.

The parent company of Musetti’s Latteria is Casa Nostra Foods LLC. Casa Nostra means "our home" in Italian. That’s where it all started, where the family served and prepared these foods for decades.
